Submission Guidelines
Retirement Pickle is a place for sharing personal stories about what life after work, retirement or winding down can look like. Stories do not need to be impressive or unusual. Small hobbies, gentle routines, new interests, setbacks and “still figuring it out” experiences are all welcome.
What you can submit
You may submit a personal story about an activity, interest, routine, project or experience that has become part of your life after work or while adjusting to a different pace of life.
You may also submit one photo to accompany your story. Photos might show something you made, cooked, grew, collected, visited or enjoyed.
Please only submit content you have permission to share
Please submit your own story in your own words.
Only upload a photo that you took yourself, that belongs to you, or that you have permission to publish publicly. Please do not upload photos showing other identifiable people unless you have their permission to appear on the website.
Moderation and editing
All submissions are reviewed before publication. Submitting a story does not guarantee that it will be published.
Retirement Pickle may choose not to publish content that is offensive, unsafe, misleading, overly promotional, spam-like, or not suited to the purpose of the website.
Where you give permission, a story may be lightly edited for spelling, clarity, length or presentation before publication. The meaning of your story will not be deliberately changed.
Names and privacy
You may choose how your name appears with your story, including using a first name, nickname or being published anonymously.
Your email address is collected so we can review or discuss your submission if needed. Your email address will not be shown publicly as part of your story.
Advice, advertising and promotion
Stories are shared as personal experiences only. They must not be treated as financial, medical, legal or other professional advice.
Please do not submit advertising, sales promotions, business marketing, investment promotions or links intended mainly to attract customers or improve website rankings.
Removing or correcting a story
If a story or photo you submitted is later published and you would like a correction made or would like it removed, please use the Contact page to send your request.
