Information we collect

If you send a message through the Contact page, we may collect your name or nickname, email address, reason for contacting us and the message you provide.

If you submit a story, we may collect your name or nickname, email address, story title, story content, selected category, any photo you choose to upload, and your responses about editing, name display and permission to publish.

How we use your information

We use submitted information to review and respond to contact messages, assess story submissions, contact you where clarification is needed, and publish an approved story or photo where you have given permission.

Your email address is used for communication and moderation purposes only. It will not be displayed publicly as part of a story.

Publishing stories and photos

Stories are reviewed before publication. If a story is approved and published, it may display the name or nickname you have asked us to use, or it may be published anonymously where requested.

Photos submitted with a story will only be published as part of an approved story submission. Please do not upload photos that identify other people unless you have their permission to be shown publicly.

Corrections and removal requests

You may contact Retirement Pickle to request a correction to a published story or to request that a story or photo you submitted be removed from the website. We will review and respond to reasonable requests as soon as practicable.

Storage and website services

Information submitted through this website may be stored within the website system and may also be sent by email to allow submissions and contact requests to be reviewed. Reasonable care will be taken when handling submitted information, but no website or email system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
